Burkina Faso: a commitment to local development

In order to extend its commitment to the world, the Maurice Amon Foundation is involved in development aid with the Monegasque Red Cross. Maurice A. Amon particularly accompanies the projects of the Polyvalent Training Center of Loumbila, in Burkina Faso.

Last January, Maurice A. Amon accompanied the Monegasque Red Cross delegation to Loumbila, Burkina Faso, to celebrate the future opening of the Burkinabé Red Cross multipurpose training center. The Princely Couple, the President of Burkina Faso and his wife were presents.

The Polyvalent Training Center of Loumbila (CFPL) is the central element of an ambitious project mixing solidarity economy and sustainable development for the benefit of the Burkinabè Red Cross, implemented in partnership with the Monegasque Red Cross: a 5000 m2 central element  from the 2015 World Expo in Milan and reassembled on site, fully equipped bungalows at the heart of an eco-responsible project, an hydraulic drilling, a photovoltaic field, hydraulic drilling and a market gardening area to support the communities local authorities and develop green tourism.

Populations will be trained in first aid by the Burkinabè Red Cross and a school operated by a local private group will teach the trades of the hotel and catering while allowing the center to be financially self-sustaining. They will receive training in hotel management but also in market gardening techniques and their marketing. At the end of the training, 80% of them will find a job.
